Why Did I Start CollegeBFFS?

I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who is a part of our growing community. We are here to support you through your college journey. Don’t be shy, we would love to hear from you. Let us know how we can assist you as you embark or continue your journey Click here.

Who is the founder of this platform, you may ask? My name is Azhane Rowe, a student at North Carolina A&T…..Aggie Pride!! (I had to do it). I came up with the idea for CollegeBFFS after I completed my first year of college. During this time I experienced many things for the first time and was unable to find consistent resources for African American Women in college outside of the organizations on my campus.

I felt alone on my journey and thought no one was experiencing the same things I was. Of course, I was totally wrong which I realized when I studied abroad in my sophomore year. That was when I truly understood the importance of always surrounding yourself with positive people, never being afraid to try new things, and realizing there are endless opportunities in academia.

My goals for CollegeBFFS are to help African American Women have a smooth transition from High School to College and to provide support and resources to those who are in College, all while building a strong community. For us to succeed as black women we need to support each other as we face society and transition into adulthood.

I look forward to you joining our community!
